2/18/2002 "SUPER TROOPERS IMPRESSIVE OPENING WEEKEND WITH $7.2 MILLION"

LOS ANGELES, CA/February 18, 2002 The comedy feature "Super Troopers" (Fox Searchlight) opened on 1800 screens grossing $7.2 million at the box office this weekend, an impressive accomplishment considering the heavyweight competition to this indie production. Bruce Willi's "Hart's War," Denzel Washington's "John Q" and Brittany Spear's "Crossroads" also opened against Troopers. The comedy feature from comedy group Broken Lizard was produced independently and acquired by Fox Searchlight at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival.

1/22/2001 "FOX SEARCHLIGHT NABS COP COMEDY 'SUPER TROOPERS' AT SUNDANCE"

PARK CITY, UTAH/January 22, 2001 - Fox Searchlight has made the first acquisition at this year's Sundance Film Festival picking up worldwide rights to Broken Lizard's comedy feature "Super Troopers." Troopers follows Broken Lizard's debut feature "Puddle Cruiser," a previous Sundance official selection. Searchlight expects to release Troopers nationwide later this year. Other terms of the deal were not made public. Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, produced by Richard Perello and Cataland Films, executive produced by Peter Lengyel and Danny Devito's Jersey Films, written by Broken Lizard.

12/5/2000 "SUPER TROOPERS IN 2001 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL"

PARK CITY, UTAH/December 5, 2000 - CATALAND FILMS' feature comedy SUPER TROOPERS was announced as an official selection for the 2001 Sundance Film Festival lineup. This years festival, the indie film showcase from Robert Redford, is scheduled for January 18-28 in Park City, Utah. The comedy from the five-man team BROKEN LIZARD stars Broken Lizard, Brian Cox, Marisa Coughlan, Daniel Von Bargen, Jim Gaffigan and Lynda Carter. This is the group's second appearance in Park City; Broken Lizard's debut feature, PUDDLE CRUISER, was a Sundance selection in 1997 and winner of the Hamptons Film Festival's Grand Prize.

NEW YORK/May 15, 1999 - CATALAND FILMS announced today the greenlight for the second feature film from the BROKEN LIZARD comedy group "SUPER TROOPERS." The comedy about Vermont State Troopers stars Broken Lizard, Brian Cox (Rushmore, Braveheart), Marisa Coughlan (Gossip, Teaching Mrs. Tingle), Daniel Von Bargen (Seinfeld, Basic Instinct), Jim Gaffigan (Welcome to New York, Three Kings) and Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) and is scheduled to begin principal photography June 1.

8/25/99 "BROKEN LIZARD AND CATALAND FILMS JOIN FORCES WITH JERSEY FILMS, TWO NETWORK DEALS ROUND OUT THE COMEDY FRANCHISE..."

NEW YORK/August 25, 1999 - CATALAND FILMS announced today a BROKEN LIZARD feature deal and two network television development deals in the works. Coming off their NBC pilot, "Safety School," from last spring, Broken Lizard, the five-man comedy group from NYC, signed a new deal with NBC STUDIOS and 3 Arts Entertainment for a prime-time sitcom for next season. Broken Lizard also signed a second position deal with Fox and Jersey Television. Immediately following the Jersey Television deal, Danny DeVito's Jersey Films committed to set up Broken Lizard's next comedy feature film, "Super Troopers."
